side of the enchanting square bullfighting plaza
together with its bullfighting museum. .
In Benalmádena the Bil-Bil Castle, a modern
building of Arabian style located on the edge of the
sea, is outstanding and houses the archeology
museum and the guard towers that date from the
18th century. To one side, Fuengirola offers over
seven kilometers (4.3miles) of beach that end at the
foot of the 12th century Sohail Castle that, from the
top of the hill, guards the crowded beaches.
The nights in Torremolinos are livened up by the
bars, the casino and in the flamenco nightclubs that
attract tourists. In this place, many continue to enjoy
the night evenwhen the sun appears on the horizon.
From Benalmádena to Marbella
With the same moderate wind, we continued
along the coast and passed in front of Fuengirola,
with its seaside promenade and sports port domi-
nated by the castle. We found the rocky area of the
Calaburra Tower, which protects the sports port of
Cabopino, followed by a nudist beach of fine sand
that lies at the foot of its dunes.
The series of beaches and coves are dotted with
guard towers, such as those of Calahonda, De los
Ladrones and Río Real. We passed by the exclusive
Los Monteros development, where the best hotel
of the Costa del Sol is located as well as its elegant
beach club and finally entered the Marbella mari-
na, one of the best in the area.

En Benalmádena destacan el castillo Bil-Bil,
un edificio moderno de estilo árabe al borde del
mar, que encierra el museo arqueológico, y las
torres de vigía que datan del siglo XVIII. Al lado,
Fuengirola ofrece más de siete kilómetros de
playa, que terminan al pie del castillo de Sohail,
del siglo XII, y vigila las playas que se llenan desde
lo alto de su colina.
Las noches en Torremolinos se animan en los
bares de copas, en el casino y en los antros de fla-
menco que seducen a los turistas. En este lugar,
muchos siguen aún disfrutando de la noche cuan-
do el sol ya aparece sobre el horizonte.
Desde Benalmádena hasta Marbella
Con el mismo viento moderado, seguimos la
costa para pasar frente a Fuengirola, con su paseo
marítimo y su puerto deportivo, dominado por el
castillo. Encontramos la zona rocosa de la Torre
de Calaburra, que protege el puerto deportivo de
Cabopino, seguido por la playa nudista de arena
fina al pie de sus dunas.
La sucesión de playas y calas se puntea con
las torres de vigía, como las de Calahonda, de Los
Ladrones y de Río Real. Pasamos por el desarrollo
exclusivo de Los Monteros, donde se encuentra el
mejor hotel de Costa del Sol, con su elegante club
de playa, y finalmente entramos en la marina de
Marbella, una de las mejores.
Marbella, frecuentada por estrellas de cine,
cabezas coronadas y el jet set europeo, es una
ciudad encantadora, donde destacan los vesti-
gios de su pasado árabe en los callejones anima-
dos por los restaurantes y las boutiques.
