momento mágico cuando la luna llena rebasó la cresta
de los montes Grigne y su reflejo acarició la superficie
del lago para alumbrar un escenario fastuoso. Fueron
unos instantes fantásticos, surgidos de otros tiem-
pos, y me imaginé a Charlotte de Prusia navegando
sobre las ondas del lago más soberbio de toda Europa.
Caminamos a la orilla del lago hasta alcanzar el centro
del pueblo para cenar en un restaurante típico unas
exquisitas pasta, risotto, o pizza.
Al día siguiente decidimos recorrer la orilla del
lago en coche, dándole la vuelta para visitar los lu-
gares más relevantes; nos dirigimos hacia el sur, pa-
sando el pueblo de Tremezzo donde lucen las Villas
La Quiete y la Carlia (que data de 1676), la iglesia de
Santa María que alberga la Madonna Negra y el puerto,
hasta alcanzar el pueblo de Lenno donde luce la famo-
sa Villa del Balbianello (estrella de las películas Casino
Royale y Star Wars Episode II) construida en el siglo
XVII ofrece una efigie maravillosa con sus jardines de
platanares y sus columnas y su arquitectura román-
tica. Visitamos la iglesia románica del siglo XI con sus
frescos. La isla Comancina se encuentra justo enfren-
te y en ella visitamos las ruinas de las iglesias que han
marcado su historia, la iglesia barroca de San Giacomo
donde se encuentra el famoso restaurante La Locan-
da dell’Isola Comancina. Seguimos nuestro recorrido
para descubrir el increíble campanario de Santa María
of the lake. It was a magical moment when the full
moon broke the crest of the Grigne mountains and
its reflection carssed the surface of the lake to light
a magnificent setting. Those were great moments,
arising from the past, and I imagined Charlotte of
Prussia ride the waves of the most superb lake in
Europe. We walked to the edge of the lake to the
town center for dinner at a typical restaurant with
exquisite pasta, risotto or pizza.
The next day we decided to tour the lake by
car, turning it over to visit the most relevant,
we headed south past the town of Tremezzo
where the Villas La Quiete shine and Carlia (dat-
ing from 1676), the church of Santa Maria that
houses the Black Madonna and the port, to reach
the village of Lenno with the famous Villa del
Balbianello (star of the films Casino Royale and
Star Wars Episode II), built in the seventeenth
century, offers a wonderful portrait with their
banana gardens, its columns, and Romanesque
architecture. We visited the XI century Roman-
esque church with frescoes. Comancina island
is located directly opposite and we visited the
ruins of the churches that have marked its his-
tory, the baroque church of San Giacomo where
the famous restaurant La Locanda dell’Isola Co-
mancina is. We continue our journey to discover
the amazing bell tower of St. Mary Magdalene in
