¿Qué hacer con ellas? Hay que tomar en cuenta
que es real y uno lo sabe: a nadie le importan tanto
como al tenedor –y lo llamo tenedor y no coleccio-
nista pues no puede coleccionar lo que está prohi-
bido comprar o vender y se castiga hasta con 20
años de cárcel–. ¿Qué hacer, pues, con ellas? Cons-
ciente de que las piezas seguirán su viaje hacia el
futuro, busca a alguien como él con quien dejar tan
valioso tesoro.
Han sido ya tres veces que quien posee bajo su
resguardo un acervo valora lo que hacemos; en la Fun-
dación Cultural Armella Spitalier no sólo cuidamos las
piezas, sino que las estudiamos, fotografiamos y pu-
blicamos, es decir, damos a la arqueología la movilidad
del Internet. Con millones de pixeles, los fotógrafos
ilustran los escritos de arqueólogos especialistas que,
traducidos al inglés, francés y alemán, comunican al
público la grandeza de nuestro pasado dando a cono-
cer los usos y costumbres, la arquitectura, el arte, los
sitios desarrollados desde el Formativo olmeca hasta
el nacimiento de la gran Tenochtitlan. Con la velocidad
del Internet hoy hemos logrado poner a disposición del
público de manera gratuita, sólo en México, hasta un
millón de veces los 40 títulos que integran la Biblioteca
Electrónica Mesoamericana, lo cual ofrece la opción al
acaparador (no coleccionista) de trascender su esfuer-
zo en el sentido de compartir a través de la FCAS su pa-
sión por la arqueología mexicana.

Mexico we have achieved to freely place up to one mil-
lion times at the disposal of the public the forty titles
that integrate our “Electronic Mesoamerican Library”
which offers a chance to the holder (not collector) of
transcending his efforts in the sense that he would be
sharing through the Fundacion Cultural Armella Spit-
alier hispassion forMexicanarchaeology.
