El no coleccionismo y el mercado negro
La conservación de un acervo, por pequeño que sea,
requiere de ciertos cuidados. Por ejemplo, un espacio
sin luz solar y donde las piezas reposen con amplitud, es
decir, con espacio suficiente para que no hagan contac-
to y para que puedan ser no sólo vistas, sino ordenadas
por cultura y por época, accesibles a la vista y al tacto,
de preferencia con humedad controlada pues el barro
trabaja tomando y soltando humedad; además, hay que
considerar que por antiguas que son y poco quemadas
que fueron –en virtud de que como no se conoció el
horno hasta épocas tardías– éstas tienden a abrirse sin
tocarlas, únicamente por el tiempo transcurrido, por lo
que el cuidado requiere en ocasiones restaurarlas, pro-
ceso para el cual se deben usar pegamentos reversibles,
pues está universalmente reglamentado dejar la res-
tauración visible, ya sea por dentro o por fuera, siempre
y cuando se tengan, mínimo, dos tercios de la pieza. La
Convención de Venecia celebrada hacia finales del siglo
XIX así lo acordó, en voz de los restauradores de los mu-
seos de la época.
Otra convención de la cual México es firmante jun-
to con otras 32 naciones se organizó en París, Francia,
a raíz del saqueo que la Segunda Guerra Mundial origi-
nó en el patrimonio cultural histórico. A partir de en-
tonces comenzaron a incrementarse los precios en el
mercado negro en general, pues los soldados vendie-
ron lo que robaron y tomaron como trofeo de guerra
de los países derrotados.

Another convention of which Mexico is part
along with other 32 nations took place in Paris,
because of the looting of the cultural and his-
torical inheritance originated by the Second
World War, since then the black market prices
increased, generally because soldiers stole and
sold what they had taken as war trophies from
the defeated countries.
