La leyenda de Courchevel comenzó hace 60 años. Du-
rante la década de 1940, el Consejo Regional de Saboya
comenzó a promover la creación del resort con el fin de
impulsar la economía en la zona. Para 1946, el proyecto
ya había comenzado con una investigación sobre las
condiciones climáticas en el lugar. En mayo del mismo
año se inauguró el primer elevador en Courchevel.
Desde entonces, este lugar siguió desarrollándose a
un paso acelerado. En la década de 1960 abrieron un al-
tipuerto a una impresionante altura de 2000 metros, lo
cual lo convirtió en un lugar pionero de los vuelos alpinos.
Un lugar para descubrir
Courchevel se revela al visitante poco a poco, su-
biendo por un camino ondulante, a lo largo de hermo-
sas montañas. El recorrido mismo ofrece muy buenas
oportunidades para disfrutar la vista y el ambiente
cultural de la región. El ascenso se divide en dos partes
principales. Primeramente, a una altitud de 1100 me-
tros, se encuentra uno con Sait-Bon, un pueblo típico

During the 40’s, the Royal Council of Saboya started
to promote the construction of this resort in order
to expand the zone’s economy. On 1946, the proj-
ect was started with an investigation of the zone’s
weather conditions. In May of that year the first lift
in Courchevel was opened.
Since then, this place has been developing at a
fast rate. On the 60’s an Air-port was opened at an
altitude of 2,000meters, making this place a pioneer
in alpine flights.
A Ace to Discover
Courchevel is revealed to the visitor little by
little, going up on a curved road along beautiful
mountains. The trip itself offers great opportunities
to enjoy the view and the cultural atmosphere of
this region. The ascent is divided in two main parts.
First, at an altitude of 1,100 meters, you find your-
self with Sait-Bon, a Saboyan typical town. The first
hotel in Courchevel, the “Courchevel: Le Lac bleu”
