los túneles de su metro, de cenas en bares, de lujo en
zonas populares.
Es un mundo excepcional de los turbulentos ba-
rrios de Sinjuku, Ueno, Shibuya (muy concurrido por
los jóvenes para la diversión ymuchos centros noctur-
nos y hoteles de paso); Marunouchi y sus jardines con
el Four Seasons, Ginza, Nihonbashi donde está la Bol-
sa de Valores; visité los jardines del Palacio Imperial,
me fui de compras a Nakamise y terminé mi estancia
en Tokio agitado pero seducido por la gran capital.
Nagano, en las montañas
Con el Tren Bala (el Shingen) llegamos en dos
horas a Nagano en las montañas, sede de los Juegos
Olímpicos de Invierno de 1998.
Descubrí su suntuoso templo de Zenko-Ji, que
data del siglo VII, uno de los más antiguos de Japón,
donde un pasillo oscuro conduce a la puerta que hay
que tocar para la buena fortuna, y sobre todo, quería
desde siempre conocer esos monos que se relajan en
una piscina de agua termal en medio de un hermoso
bosque nevado. Y los vi y admiré.
