2. Kioto, la capital de
los jardines.

Nunca se me va a olvidar esa impresión de des-
cubrirlo de noche encima de la colina, con ese jardín
de cerezos en flor a sus pies, la gente paseando o
haciendo picnic como si fuese una fiesta de la eterna
primavera, celebrando la belleza de esos árboles que
ofrecían su mejor vestido al mundo.
Al día siguiente, fue todo un espectáculo volver
a verlos a la luz del día, vestidos de flores bancas, el
castillo lucía orgulloso sobre su colina, con unos edi-
ficios de piedra a sus pies, unos templos elegantes,
unos jardines fastuosos donde las carpas Koi ani-
maban el agua y los pabellones se reflejaban en sus
aguas tranquilas.
Me enamoré de Himeji y sus reflejos dentro de
las ramas cubiertas de flores blancas con la alegría
de la gente que gozaba del espectáculo sin preocu-
parse del tiempo.
I will never forget that sense of discovering it
at night on top of the hill with that cherry blossom
garden at its foot, people strolling or picnicking as
if it were the ever lasting spring, celebrating the
beauty of those trees that offered its best outfit to
the world.
Thenext day, itwas a complete event to see them
again in the light of day, dresses in white flowers,
the castle looked proud above its hill, with some
stone buildings at its foot, a few elegant temples,
some bushy gardens where the Koi carpets would
animate the water and the pavilions would reflect
in the still waters.
I fell in love of Himeji and its reflections within
the covered white flowers branches with the happi-
ness of the people enjoying the show without wor-
rying about time.
