imágenes llenas de poesías y mis pasos me llevaron
a conocer los lugares más encantadores de la ciudad,
además de los barrios más modernos con rascacielos
que desafían el equilibrismo.
Palacios y fortalezas
Descubrí el Palacio Real con sus jardines Zen, don-
de la grava vive al ritmo del trabajo del jardinero que
la peina y los estanques se animaban con las carpas
que miraban los elegantes edificios ricamente deco-
rados y sobrios a la vez.
Al igual que el Palacio Fortaleza de Nijojomae con
su muralla rodeada por agua y sus salones adorna-
dos de pinturas al gusto de los japoneses que me
gustan, me fascinó.
Los templos ofrecían cada uno su encanto con su
propio estilo, muy diferente uno del otro: El Golden
Temple Kinkaku-Ji (con su maravilloso pabellón en
medio de un lago de sueño), Shôko-in con sus jardines,
Yentsû-Ji, Higashi Hongan-Ji, Honkoku-Ji, con su vista
insuperable, Nishi Otani Betsuin, Yamashiro Kokubun-
Ji, Nishikejo Hieijocho, Ushitoracho, etcétera.
El Barrio de Guion nos llevó por el pasado y al pie de la
colina caminé a lo largo del río que corre bajo los cerezos.
Por el Templo de Shugakein Kitafukecho y en el
cual caían los pétalos hasta llegar al Templo de Shu-
gakuin Ishikakecho y su hermoso barrio, donde se
alojaba mi Ryokan.
También descubrí uno de los más viejos cerezos
del país cuyos pétalos volaban con el aire y los tem-
plos de Higashiyama, que acogen a los visitantes que
pasean por los callejones de la zona.

Palaces and Fortresses
IdiscoveredtheRoyalPalacewithitsZengardens,
where the stone lives at the rhythmof the gardener’s
work who combs it and the ponds would come alive
with the carps that would stare at the elegant richly
decorated and at the same time sober buildings.
Just like the Fortress Nijojomae Palace with
its wall surrounded by water and its rooms
decorated of Japanese liking paintings that I like,
I was fascinated.
The temples would offer each one its charm at
their own style, very different one from the other: the
Golden Temple Kinkaku-Ji (with its wonderful pavilion
in the middle of a dream lake) Shôko-in with its gar-
dens, Yentsû-Ji, Higashi Hongan-Ji, Honkoku-Ji, with
its outstanding view, Nishi Otani Betsuin, Yamashiro
Kokubun-Ji, NishikejoHieijocho, Ushitoracho, etcetera.
The Guion neighborhood would take us to the
past and at the foot of the hill I walked aside the
river that runs under the cherry trees.
BytheShugakeinKitafukechoTempleandinwhichthe
petalswouldfallreachingtheShugakuinIshikakechoTem-
pleanditsbeautifulneighbor,wheremyRyokanwasfound.
I also discovered one of the oldest cherry trees of
the country, which petals would fly with the air, and
the Higashiyama temples, which take in the visitors
that stroll through the alleys in the area.
