Malbork
Dejamos el velero en Sopot para recorrer Polonia por
su encantadora campiña y sus fascinantes sitios car-
gados de historia. Lo más cercano que visitamos fue
Malbork (Marienburg), una imponente fortaleza góti-
ca construida por los Caballeros Teutones en el siglo
XIII a la orilla del río Nogat. Ampliada a los largo del
tiempo, actualmente se conforma de tres intrincados
castillos que forman la fortaleza de ladrillo más gran-
de de Europa, donde visitamos las salas medievales el
patio central con sus arcos y los restos de la catedral.
Torun
El siguiente paso de nuestra ruta nos llevó al pueblo
de Chelmno y su imponente muralla perforada por
puertas, altos edificios medievales de ladrillos y una
encantadora plaza central donde luce la alcaldía. Final-
mente alcanzamos Torun, una ciudad amurallada a la
orilla del Vístula, ciudad natal del astrónomo Nicolás
Copérnico, famosa por tener más de 300monumentos
inscritos a la historia del arte de Europa. Al recorrer la
plaza mayor y las calles adyacentes, penetramos en
el universo de hace 700 años porque no ha cambiado
desde entonces, conservando su apariencia medieval
con sus edificios de ladrillo.

Malbork
We leith out sailboat at Sopot to travel through
Poland through its countryside, one charged with
history. The closet we got to this regions was Mal-
bork (Marienburg), and impressive gothic fortress
built by Teutonic Knights in the 13th century on the
shore of the Nogat River. Expanded over time, it is
currently conformed of three intricate castles that
form the largest brick fortress in Europe, where we
visited the medieval rooms of the main plaza and
the rest of the cathedral.
Torun
Our next step following this route took us to the
town of Chelmno, a place with an imposing wall
perforated with entrances, highmedieval buildings
made with bricks, and an enchanting central plaza
where themayor’s office resides. Finally, we reached
Torun, a walled city near Vístula, the native town of
astronomer Nicolas Copernicus, famous for having
over 300 monuments pertaining to the art history
of Europe. As we walked through the central plaza
and adjacent roads, we penetrated into a universe
that has remained unchanged for 700 years, one
that has maintained its medieval appearance.
