la capilla de Segismundo definida como arte renacen-
tista toscano más al norte de los Alpes, con su cúpula
dorada y las tumbas adornadas por perfectas escultu-
ras. El coro, la tumba de Casimiro, la capilla de la Santa
Cruz, las criptas reales y la campana de San Segismun-
do de más de 11 toneladas nos impresionaron.
El castillo de Zamek Królewski es una compleja
mezcla de estilos con un patio decorado de colum-
nas y sus elegantes salas albergan auténticos te-
soros y extravagantes objetos. Desde lo alto de la
muralla disfrutamos de unas fabulosas vistas sobre
el río y la ciudad.
Afuera del centro nos sorprendió el santuario Bo-
zego Milosierdzia, el monasterio Bielany (Klaztor Ka-
medulów) y la abadía Tyniec. Visitamos fascinantes
museos como Sukiennicach, el museo de Arqueología
y los Palacio Ciolek, Krzysztofory y Hipolitów.
Cracovia es también el arte del buen comer y go-
zamos de los platillos con pato, col agria, betabel, bor-
sh o exquisitas salchichas, acompañados por una bue-
na cerveza polaca o vinos europeos. Cada noche un
concierto diferente animaba los teatros, las iglesias
o los palacios privados. La orilla de la Vístula incitaba
a un paseo romántico al pie de Wavel, admirando los
cisnes o los patos alimentados por la gente.
Kazimierz es un barrio intrigante lleno de histo-
ria, y terminamos la visita gozando de la tranquilidad
del santuario Skalka a la orilla del Vístula. Paseamos

Its interior boasts the chapel of Sigismund, defined
as renaissance Tuscan art north of the Alps, whit its
goldencopula, aswell as the tombs adornedbyperfect
sculptures. The choir, the tomb of Casimir, the Chapel
of theHolyCross, theRoyal Crypts and the bell of Saint
Sigismundweighingmore than 11 tons left us dumb-
founded.
The castle of Zamek Królewski is a complex mix
of styles with a patio decorated with columns and
elegant chambers that harbour authentic treasures
amongst the extravagant objects in place. From
atop the wall we admired the fabulous views of the
river and the city.
Outside of the centre we were surprised by the
Bozego Milosierdzia sanctuary, the Bielany (Klaztor
Kamedunów) monasteries and the Tyniec abbey. We
visited fascinatingmuseums such as Sukiennicach,
the archeological museum, and the Ciolek, Krzysz-
tofory and Hipolitów Palaces.
Cracovia is also a place for fine cuisine, and we
enjoyed dished garnished with duck, bitter cab-
bage, beats, borsh and exquisite sausages accompa-
nied by good polish beer and European wines. Each
night, a different concert animated the theaters,
the churches, or the private palaces. The shores of
the Vístula incited one to take a romantic stroll at
the foot of the Wavel, admiring the swams and the
ducks being fed by locals and tourists.
