Las nueve escenas del génesis
Pintados en la franja central de la bóveda aparecen
nueve frescos que aparecen de forma longitudinal co-
menzando con el primero –de izquierda a derecha–, el
cual, coincide con la pared del altar, donde está el Juicio
Final, y el noveno se ubica hacia la pared de entrada; de
forma alternada, los frescos –que se podrían considerar
números impares– están bordeados por medallones,
cada uno sostenido por figuras desnudas. Estás nueve
pinturas se dividen en tres grupos que representan el
mismo número de significados; los tres primeros (des-
de la izquierda) significan la Separación de la luz de las
tinieblas (Génesis I, 4), Creación de los astros y la natu-
raleza (Génesis I, 4), y Separación de las aguas y la tierra
(Génesis I, 9); los tres siguientes se refieren a la Crea-
ción de Adán (Génesis I, 26), Creación de Eva (Génesis
II, 21), y Caída del Hombre, pecado original y expulsión
del Paraíso (Génesis II, 4), y los últimos tres, hacen re-
ferencia a la maldad del hombre con El Sacrificio de Noé
(Génesis VIII, 20), El Diluvio Universal (Génesis VII, 18) y
La Embriaguez de Noé (Génesis IX, 23).

The nine scenes fromGenesis
Painted on the central part of the ceiling, nine fresh
are shown longitudinally starting with the first
(from left to right), which coincides with the al-
tar wall (where the Last Judgment is) and ninth is
located towards to the entrance wall; alternately,
the frescoes –which could be considered odd num-
bers– are bordered by medallions, each one hold up
by nude figures. These nine paintings are divided
into three groups representing the same number
of meanings; the first three (from left) mean Sepa-
ration of light from darkness (Genesis I, 4)
Creation
of the sun, moon and planets
(Genesis I, 4), and
Sepa-
ration of Land from sea
(Genesis I, 9); the following
three relate to the Creation of Adam (Genesis I, 26),
Creation of Eve (Genesis II, 21), and
Original Sin and
Banishment from the Garden of Eden
(Genesis II, 4),
and the last three, refer to the wickedness of man
with the
Sacrifice of Noah
(Genesis VIII, 20),
The Flood
(Genesis VII, 18) and
Drunkenness of Noah
(Genesis
IX, 23).
