Hotel Librije
W
hat would you do if the Librije bou-
tique hotel, with one of two Michelin
three-star restaurants in the Nether-
lands is located in Zwolle, a hundred kilometers
from Amsterdam where I am?
Getting there took me only an hour and a half.
The Librije hotel is a 20 minute walk from the train
station, located in the vicinity of attractions which
include: Grote Markt, Grote Kerk, Stedelijk Muse-
um and Museum Fundatie., as well as Anningahof
Sculpture Park. Built in what was the women’s pris-
on, in a magnificent eighteenth century building.
It takes courage to convert an old 1739 prison into
a five-star hotel. Jonnie and Thérèse Boer, a young
couple, make the perfect team, one an inspiring ideal-
ist and another a thriving entrepreneur have success-
fully managed to create a very special atmosphere in
the heart of the Hanseatic city of Zwolle.

que cuenta con uno de los dos restauran-
tes de tres estrellas Michelin en los Países
Bajos se encuentra en Zwolle, a cien kilómetros
de Amsterdam dónde me encuentro?
Llegar ahí me tomó aproximadamente una hora y
media. El hotel Librije se encuentra a 20 minutos a pie
de la estación de tren; ubicado en las inmediaciones
de lugares de interés como: Grote Markt, Grote Kerk,
Museo Stedelijk y Museo De Fundatie. Anningahof
Sculpture Park. Construido en lo que fue la cárcel de
mujeres, en un magnífico edificio del siglo XVIII.
Hizo falta mucha audacia para convertir una
antigua prisión de 1739 en un hotel de cinco estre-
llas, pero Jonnie y Thérèse Boer, dos jóvenes, uno
inspirador y otro emprendedor han logrado crear
con gran éxito una atmósfera muy especial en el
corazón de la ciudad hanseática de Zwolle.
