El Área Holandesa de Wadden
Entre Den Helder en Holanda y Esbjerg en Dina-
marca se encuentra una zona de importancia natu-
ral que no tiene comparación con cualquier parte del
mundo. El Mar de Wadden es un mundo en sí mismo,
un mundo con dos caras, gobernados a su vez por el
flujo y reflujo, de la arena y el agua. Al igual que las
perlas de un collar, unas cincuenta islas e islotes pro-
tegen la superficie de Wadden. El collar empieza con
las cinco islas Wadden de Holanda, perlas que contie-

El Mar deWadden está lleno de vida. Dos veces al día,
la corriente de la marea trae agua desde el Mar del Nor-
te, rico en sedimentos y plancton, gran parte del cual se
hunde en el lecho de arena. Además, las aguas poco pro-
fundas del Mar de Wadden se calientan rápidamente en
verano. Esto significa que las algas son capaces de crecer
rápidamente. Ellos forman la base de la enorme riqueza
de los alimentos que suministra a los habitantes del mar
de Wadden - innumerables peces, aves y focas.
Al igual que su mar, las cinco islas Wadden también
rebosan de vida. No sólo hay vida silvestre en abundan-
cia, sino que también están llenas de cultura, deporte y
agradables terrazas. En todas las islas, se encuentran
espacios tranquilos y abiertos, playas y dunas, flo-
ra y fauna maravillosa, cielos abiertos y vistas que se
extienden por kilómetros a través del Mar del Norte y
el Mar de Wadden. Pero además se encuentran, Texel,
Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland y Schiermonnikoog
cada uno tienen sus propias vistas y especialidades.

The DutchWadden Area
Between Den Helder in the Netherlands and
Esbjerg in Denmark is an area of natural sig-
nificance that is unmatched by anywhere in the
world. The Wadden Sea is a planet unto itself,
a world with two faces, governed in turn by the
ebb and flow of sand and water. Like pearls on a
necklace, some fifty islands and islets protect the
Wadden area. The necklace begins with the five
Dutch Wadden islands, beads containing its own
atmosphere and unique character. Five islands,
five moments to enjoy!
The Wadden Sea is full of life. Twice a day, the
flow of the tide brings water from the North Sea,
rich in sediment and plankton, much of which is
sinking into the sand bed. In addition, the shal-
low Wadden Sea in summer heats rapidly. This
means that algae are able to grow rapidly. They
form the basis of the enormous wealth of the food
it supplies to the inhabitants of the Wadden Sea -
countless fish, birds and seals.
Like its sea, the five Wadden islands also
teem with life. Not only wildlife in abundance,
but are also full of culture, sports and nice ter-
races. All the islands are quiet and posses open
spaces, beaches and dunes, wonderful wild-
life, open skies and views that stretch for miles
across the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. You
can also locate Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling,
Ameland and Schiermonnikoog each have their
own views and specialties.
