El Líbano fue el país en donde nació el alfabeto. El
Líbano colmó al mundo, incluyendo a México, con el
amor y las dádivas de sus hijos, y así el emigrante li-
banés fue uno de los pilares de construcción en todos
los rincones del mundo donde arribó.
El Líbano tiene una superficie de 10.452 km
2
. Al
oeste, limita con el Mediterráneo, por eso hay varios
clubes náuticos y piscinas en sus costas. Hay piscinas
públicas gratuitas lo cual permite a todos disfrutar el
bello verano libanés. Además, existen complejos pri-
vados de chalets y piscinas que ofrecen servicios ex-
clusivos a quienes los puedan costear. También, hay
muchos puertos turísticos repletos de yates y en una
colina, frente al mar, está ubicado el casino más lindo
de Medio Oriente.
A veinte minutos de la costa, en las montañas, se
encuentran las mejores aldeas de veraneo. Las mon-
tañas del Líbano, especialmente Sannine, Harmoun
y Al Sheik, están cubiertas de nieve durante todo el
año. Existen muchos centros de esquí, reconocidos
mundialmente. En la localidad montañosa de Al Arz
se conjuga el placer de esquiar con el maravilloso
paisaje del Bosque de Cedros, en el cual se encuen-
tra uno de más de 3.000 años de antigüedad, cua-
trocientos de más de 1.000 años y decenas de más
de 500 años. Esto también se mezcla con el placer
de descubrir el valle sagrado de Kadisha, considerado
por la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad. En
él se encuentran algunas iglesias cristianas de más
de cientos de años, construidas en grutas dentro de
las grandes montañas. También está la cueva de Ka-
disha y el famoso manantial Afka, en el cual murió a
su orilla el dios Cadmo, según la mitología.

The mountains of Lebanon, specially Sannine, Har-
moun and Al Sheik, are covered with snow the entire
year. Several world known ski center exist here. In the
mountainous location we find Al Arz mountain re-
sort which combines the pleasure of skiing with the
wonderful scenery of the Cedar Forest, many of these
trees aremore than3,000years old, or evencountwith
1,000 years of age and other have nearly 500 years of
existence. This is also mixed with the pleasure of dis-
covering the sacred valley of Kadisha, considered by
UNESCOasWorldHeritage site. It contains someChris-
tian churches with nearly hundreds of years of con-
struction, built ingrouts deep inside the breathtaking
mountains. We can also find the cave of Kadisha and
the famous Afka water spring, in which, according to
mythology, the god Cadmus died along its banks.
